Title : Pinky The Helpful Balloon

Sketches of Characters in the book.

Pinky

Little Girl

Little Girl's Mother

Baby Bird

Mother Bird

Bunny

After adding colours to the characters
...

There!!! ^^

Don't they look awesome now???

Because our storybook caters to 6 year old children,

We selected warm and vibrant colours for our characters.

As our research has revealed that young children

Are attracted by warm and bright colours.

Not only do adults associate things better with colours.

Little children do as well.

Which was why our main character is named Pinky.

Deriving its name from its colour.

This way, kids can associate the colour pink with the character easily.

So let's not waste time any further.

Allow me to showcase to you...

Pinky The Helpful Balloon

Moral of the story:

1. Daring to be different, choosing your own path in life.

2. Going out of your way to help someone is a joyful thing.

This 2 morals are something that we hope to instill

In the little children who have read our storybook =)

Sorry, no sketches to show.

Poster - Save the Children

Here's my poster...

I didn't really do any sketches for this.

Coz I already had the idea in mind.

I wanted to save the innocent little children.

From their never ending, ever-increasing workload.

Children these days are always pressured to learn many things.

Piano lessons, IT lessons, Ballet classes, Maths/Science tuition

And the List just goes on and on...

How do society view these young wizards???

Talented/Gifted/All-rounded individuals?

Or simply a child deprived of a childhood???

Which was why I didn't bother to sketch a cute character.

Because I don't think a child like this would look cute.

I wanted to portray the child as a geeky looking pathetic soul.

Hence the Ugliness of the character in the poster with the specs.

And YES! That ugly mob of hair.

Should have added cobwebs in it.

Picture Story Telling

Empty streets...where's everybody???

All shops closed, not a single soul in sight

It's deserted here as well.

Where did everyone go??? o.O

It's almost like a ghost town.

So there's where everyone is!

Pictogram

Have you ever felt frustrated when people just don't bother to move to the center of the school's shuttle bus? You see plenty of space in the middle, and yet you are having a torrid time trying to squeeze up either ends of the shuttle bus? Well, I'm sure most of us have experienced this scenario on at least one occasion during our stint in the campus of NUS. So I thought, why not help remind one another to practise good courtesy and help make our daily shuttle rides a comfortable, pleasant and fuss-free one? =)

Abstraction

From Complexity to Simplicity

#5

The first picture starts off with lots of details.

Slowly, the unimportant details are removed.

In the end, what matters is we can still get

The message of the picture across to viewers.

Prototype

#3 chosen

This is the prototype selected out of the 5.

I feel that this best represents the message.

Certain details are too important to be left out.

E.g. The driver, NUS logo, and the bus doors.

Idea #4

Selected idea to work on : #1

Actual Object

I chose idea #1 because I felt that this best represented me.

I am one who places great emphasis on my physical appearance.

Which is why Hair styling products are so essential in my daily life.

When one looks good, one would naturally feel good too! =)

So yes! I'm gonna use a bottle of wax to portray my personality!

My Drafts...

Here's my name, GARY.

I believe there is "objection manipulation" seen in here.

My name has been carefully shaped to form the body of the bottle.

This image exudes the notion of how important Hair-styling Products mean to me.

And also, not forgetting how much justice I am doing to the product itself too. ^^

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
